The Importance of our Academic Program

Academics is a very important part of Buchtel's football program.  Each and every student is in school to get an education.  From their freshman year, students are on the track to finish high school and continue through to college.   These young men are amazing athletes and students. We expect our football players to maintain at least a 2.50 GPA while participating in football, and throughout the year.

Our academic coach works year round to make sure that everyone is meeting the team expectations. Our students are given the opportunity to participate in tutoring and ACT prep classes. They are also provided the opportunity to do peer tutoring with each other.  All of our young men are required to participate in study tables which continue through out the year.  Our players maintain an ACT average that enables them to be college ready by their senior year.

For the last 4 years, EVERY ONE of our football players has left Buchtel High School and enrolled into college.
